True Crime Cases in United Kingdom

Britain holds a long place in the true-crime record, and the cases I've mapped here span more than a century. They begin with Jack the Ripper and the 1888 Whitechapel murders, the unsolved case that still shapes how we talk about serial killers.

From there the record runs through the Moors Murders of Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, the long Yorkshire Ripper manhunt, and Harold Shipman, the trusted family doctor who killed an estimated 250 patients. I've also documented quieter, more recent cases that drew far less folklore but no less grief.
