Andrew Cunanan
Andrew Phillip Cunanan was a 27-year-old American spree killer from California who murdered five people across several states between April and July 1997. Intelligent and charismatic, he supported himself through relationships with wealthy older men. After killing his final victim, fashion designer Gianni Versace, he hid on a houseboat in Miami Beach and fatally shot himself on July 23, 1997, before he could be apprehended.

Andrew Cunanan began a cross-country killing spree in April 1997, murdering acquaintances Jeffrey Trail and David Madson in Minnesota, real estate developer Lee Miglin in Chicago, and cemetery caretaker William Reese in New Jersey. On July 15, 1997, he fatally shot Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace outside his mansion, Casa Casuarina, on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. After a nationwide manhunt, Cunanan was found hiding on a houseboat in Miami Beach, where he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on July 23, 1997. The motive for the Versace killing was never definitively established.
