Morocco's presence in the true-crime record is narrow but old. The case I've mapped here reaches back to 1906, well before most of the modern investigations that fill this atlas.
It centers on Hadj Mohammed Mesfewi, a Marrakesh cobbler who, with an elderly accomplice, drugged and murdered women and buried their bodies beneath his shop. The scale that came to light, and the era it belongs to, are what set the case apart.
One documented case does not say anything about a country, and I make no broader claim here. I research each entry by hand, and this page simply marks where that history sits on the map.
