True Crime Cases in Turkey
1 documented case spanning 2016–2016 . Each case is researched from public sources, with locations, perpetrators, victims and video coverage.
Turkey's place in the documented true-crime record is narrow, and the cases mapped here reflect that. Rather than a long roll of familiar names, the country's entry centers on a single case I have researched and pinned to the map.
That case is the Atalay Filiz murders. Filiz killed three people across Ankara and Istanbul between 2013 and 2016, and he is also linked to the disappearance of a former girlfriend. His arrest in Istanbul in 2016 closed a manhunt that drew wide attention in Turkey.
I add cases here only as I confirm the details by hand, so the list for Turkey may grow over time. For now, it stands as one carefully documented record rather than a survey of the country.
