True Crime Cases in Nigeria

2 documented cases spanning 1999–2019 . Each case is researched from public sources, with locations, perpetrators, victims and video coverage.

Nigeria appears in the wider true-crime record through a small number of cases that drew national attention, and those are the ones I've documented and mapped here. They are isolated stories rather than any broad pattern, and I've kept each entry to what the public record supports.

Among them is Clifford Orji, arrested in Lagos in 1999 after victims' remains were found at his roadside shack, a case often cited as one of the country's most disturbing. Decades later, in 2019, Gracious David-West was tied to a series of killings of women in hotel rooms around Port Harcourt.

Each case on this page is researched by hand from reported sources. The map shows where they happened and the year, so you can read them in context rather than in isolation.
