True Crime Cases in Finland
2 documented cases spanning 2007–2008 . Each case is researched from public sources, with locations, perpetrators, victims and video coverage.
Finland rarely appears in the true-crime record, and the cases I've mapped here reflect that. Both are school shootings that happened within a year of each other: the 2007 attack at Jokela High School in Tuusula, and the 2008 shooting at a vocational school in Kauhajoki.
These two events stand close together in time and nature, and they prompted real changes to how the country approached firearms and school safety. I research each case by hand, so this page stays narrow and factual rather than suggesting a broader pattern.
What's gathered here is small, and that is the honest picture. Open the map to read the details of the cases documented for Finland.
